PIG CONCIOUSNESS – on the move

In the second half of the 1970s, the photographer and theorist Allan Sekula wrote the text Dismantling Modernism, Reinventing Documentary. In this he went new ways in calling for “a critical re-evaluation of the relationship between artists, media workers, and their ‘audiences’”. PIG CONSCIOUSNESS – on the move takes this up. The works created for the exhibition at the Sprengel Museum Hannover are conceived as modules. In in some cases modified form, some of them venture out into rural spaces – into fire stations, community gardens, community centres, castle towers, barns and smaller art spaces.
